The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the East Liberty Community Room. Roll Call: John Brose, present, Jeff Rosebrook, present, Terry Cook, present and Cindy Stalling, present. Also present was Bonnie Brose, Linda Baldridge, George Ondick, Billy Rings, Keith Montgomery, Dave Cook, Joy Litteral, Dan Ackley, and Kacy Welty. 

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mr. John Brose and all said the Pledge of Alligence. The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees to read prior to this meeting. Mr. Brose asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes and then asked if there were any additions or corrections to the financial statements that were given to the Trustees from the fiscal officer. They both stand approved by the trustees.

Chief Montgomery brought up that the cook stove at the firehouse has 3 burners that are not working. It was purchased in Aug. 2003 by the Chief and donated to the fire dept. Mr. Terry Cook made a motion to purchase a new stove from Lowe’s, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook. Brose, yes, Rosebrook, yes, and Cook, yes. All agreed to get a scratch and dent stove if they have one.

Chief brought up that he would like for the guys that work on Saturday and Sunday to start working 24 hours starting Jan. 1, 2015. This is the medics. Right now they work 12 hrs. so it would be 24 more hrs. per weekend for payroll. After some discussion, Mr. John Brose made a motion to change to 24 hr. coverage on the weekends, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook. Brose, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Cook, yes. Chief stated that we are already at 180 runs this year. This would add around $16,000.00 per year to the payroll. Chief stated that Dave Frangis helmet has broken and doesn’t fit anymore, he needs a new one. Jeff made a motion to purchase him a new helmet, seconded by John. Brose, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Cook, yes.

Squad Chief Dave Cook reported that the Medical Board is doing away with backboards, no transporting patients anymore on backboards. They will only be used for extricating of patients out of vehicles then they will be put on a vacuum mattress. These mattresses form to the patient. The price of the mattresses is 2 for $1,433.00. After a lot of discussion, Mr. Rosebrook made a motion to purchase 2 of these mattresses, seconded by Mr. Brose. Brose, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Cook, yes. Mr. Dave Cook had a donation to give to Bonnie for PTEC from the PTEMS. It goes for the fireworks, and was for $500.00. It was very much appreciated.

Mrs. Joy Litteral stated that she is going to be off work for 1 ½ weeks as she is going in to have her hardware removed from her foot.

Mr. Terry Cook reported that he had a funeral. Mr. Brose reported that there has been some vandalism at the park. All picnic tables had been moved on end and put in a circle and then they started a fire. Nothing was hurt, just mischief. They also broke the door knob off of the back door of the restrooms.

Mr. Rosebrook reported that he has a base order in for the spring order.

Mrs. Stalling reported that Margie Cook’s permanent total disability got approved at her BWC hearing.

Mr. Terry Cook reported that the Christmas lights are up and working in the Town Hall yard.

Mr. Rosebrook had quotes for a 24’ x 60’ steel building. From Delaware Sheds and Barns for $11,075.00 and from All-Steel Carports for $12,100.00. Jeff called the State and we do NOT need a permit for this type of building. Trustees want to add a service Door for $200.00. 12 gauge metal for another $400.00. That way it is guaranteed for 20 years. With these extras from Delaware Sheds and Barns the total is $11,725.00. Mr. Rosebrook made a motion for said purchase from Delaware Sheds and Barns, seconded by Mr. Brose. Brose, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Cook, yes. There will be a gravel floor in this. And we are putting mobile home anchors on this building. We need to pay 10% down when we order this.

Jeff brought up about the Street Light, and John hasn’t heard anything about it. John has emailed the guy and still hasn’t heard anything.

Mr. Dan Ackley, zoning inspector, brought up about the swimming pools that are still up without permits. We discussed a lot of options as to what to do about them. We decided to run an ad in the Examiner as to a reminder that any permanent swimming pool in Perry Township has to have a 6’ fence around it and also have a ladder that locks on it. Also contact the zoning inspector, Mr. Dan Ackley with any questions. We are going to run this in the paper two times.

Mr. Brose brought up about the home sewage treatment rules set by the State and being enforced by the Logan County Health Dept. John went over the rules. These rules are if you have a septic tank. There was a lot of discussion about this from the floor.

Mrs. Stalling brought up that Scott Chamberlain contacted her and he has some old trophies from when he played ball here in Perry Township and he would like to donate them back to the township. John is going to meet with him to get them. We got new Wal-Mart credit cards. Mrs. Stalling brought up about setting up our year end meeting. All agreed to have it on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the community room.

Mr. Kacy Welty reported that we got a 3 months extension on our renewing our drug licenses. The State is reworking on how they are doing this, so they gave everyone else extension on our renewals.
