The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday,    December 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Liberty Community Room.  Roll Call: Merle Ackley, present, Jeff Rosebrook, present, John Brose, present and Cindy Stalling, present.  Also present was Larry Wellington, Terry Cook, Joy Litteral, Dave Cook, Bonnie Brose, Dave Frangis, Keith Montgomery, Jenny and Chuck Boudow.      The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mr. Merle Ackley and all said the Pledge of Alligence.               The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees to read prior to this meeting.  Mr. Ackley asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes and then asked if there were any additions or corrections to the financial statements that were given to the Trustees from the fiscal officer.  They both stand approved by the trustees.      Mr. Larry Wellington reported that Kacy Welty and he will be taking the 120 hr. transition class for fire fighters.  It will be held at the Ridgeway fire house and the State Fire Marshall’s office has gotten a grant for this, so there will be no charge for them to take it.  The class will start on Sunday, December 15 and run through May.      Fire Chief, Keith Montgomery, brought up about the chains on the squad; Mr. Rosebrook told him that Bud Rosebrook is checking into this.       Chief would like to hire 2 more medics after the first of the year, as we have lost 2 of ours this past year.  They would like to start interviewing in January, and the Trustees need to be available to sit in on the interviews.       Chief reported that the firemen are using the new fuel sheets; do we want one per week of one per month?  One per month will be sufficient.          Mr. Dave Cook, squad chief, thanked Mr. John Brose for being their stair chair dummy in the video that was made demonstrating the use of the chair for the BWC safety grant.       Mr. Chuck Boudrow, was representing the Masons, invited the public to a breakfast at the Lodge Hall on Saturday morning.  They will be having new installation and the Speaker of the House will be speaking.  There will be coffee and donuts.      Mr. John Brose brought up about fixing the fire siren, Jeff is going to get ahold of HBI Electric and see if we can use their bucket truck and let Dean Moore go up and fix it.    Mr. John Brose brought up about whether we need to purchase anymore tables for the old shelter house at the park or not?   Trustees discussed this and Mr. Ackley stated that there are several that need to be replaced.  All agreed that we need to get 10 – 6’ wooden tables before spring.  Mr. Brose made a motion that we purchase 10- 6’ wooden tables before spring, seconded by Mr. Merle Ackley.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Brose, yes.       Mr. Brose said that he has read over the TRC Contract for working on our vehicles and he feels that it is okay to enter into a contract with TRC.  We need to get the trucks DOT inspected and TRC can do this for us.  Mr. Brose made a motion to enter into a contract with TRC, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes, and Brose, yes.      Mr. Brose reported that he is working on the BWC safety grant for the stair chair.  He stated that this information needs to be in before December 31. And that the proof of spending on the jaws-of-life needs to be before December 31 too.  John gave the information he has been working on to Cindy and she will get ahold of BWC to set up a meeting to get this going.         Mr. Brose reported that he received a call the other night that there were some solicitors in town and it was after dark and some of our residents were not happy about this.  John came into town and talked to the gentlemen that were going around town, they were from an electric company trying to get residents to sign up for cheaper electric.  John called the Logan County Sheriff’s office and they told John that he did the right thing in calling them and letting them handle this situation.  John wanted to know if we wanted to pass a resolution to keep solicitors out of town or not?  After some discussion, matter was tabled.       Mr. Jeff Rosebrook reported that the lights are here for the lodge hall, but we will wait until after this weekend to install them, until after your installation celebration.      Mr. Rosebrook reported that Mr. Elliott contacted him and he wants the township to put in 2 catch basins in our ditches on T.R. 131.  They are putting tile in the field out there and he wants us to put in catch basins too.  Mr. Rosebrook stated that he feels that there is no benefit to the township to do this. But the Trustees will go out and meet with him and see what they think.      Mr. Rosebrook reported that they fixed another tile behind the fire house.      Mr. Rosebrook sold 3 lots in the North Greenfield Cemetery to Larry Cronkleton.      Mr. Rosebrook reported that Bud got the dump truck fixed.     Mrs. Stalling brought up that it was time to fill the board for the Volunteer Fire Fighters Dependent Fund.  Mr. Jeff Rosebrook, made a motion to leave it the same as last year, seconded by Mr. John Brose. Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes, and Brose, yes.   So the member will be as follows: The 2 administrative members will be: Jeff Rosebrook and John Brose The 2 fire members will be; Keith Montgomery and Sandy Wilcox The member voted on by the other members will be: Doug Henry the Chairman of the board will be John Brose and the Secretary will be Jeff Rosebrook.      Mrs. Stalling asked about setting the year end meeting.   After some discussion, all agreed to have it on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the East Liberty Community Room.  Cindy will advertise it in the Examiner.      Mrs. Stalling then presented Mr. Ackley a gift to thank him for his 20 years of service with Perry Township as a Trustee.     Mr. Merle Ackley made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Brose, yes.   TOTAL OF BILLS:   $45,157.10                                                                                                                         TOTAL OF INCOME FOR NOVEMBER:  $4,504.34                                                                         TOTAL OF ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS:  $4,763.58                                                                                                                                                         Mr. Merle Ackley made a motion for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook.  Ackley, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Brose, yes.
