The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday,
December 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Liberty Community Room. Roll Call: John Brose, present, Terry Cook, present, John Baughman, present and Cindy Stalling, present. Also present was Dan Ackley, Dan Coats, Bonnie Brose, Melony Baker, Jessica Gibson, JD Gibson, Jason Epp, Dan Trout, Renee Rosebrook, Ken Rosebrook, Mike Long, Mark Slonecker, Charlotte Melbloco, Zach Amos, Travis Hefner, Daniel Vertucil, Rob Harvey, and Jeff Rosebrook.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mr. John Brose and all said the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees to read prior to this meeting. Mr. Brose asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes and then asked if there were any additions or corrections to the financial statements that were given to the Trustees from the fiscal officer. They both stand approved by the trustees.
Daniel Vertucil, Charlotte Melbloco and Zach Amos were here representing the Invenergy Co., that are bring solar panels to our Township. Mr. Vertucil talked about their Company and gave an overview about the solar panels and about them coming to Perry Township. He stated that there are 8 projects right now in Ohio. Daniel stated that there is a lot of demand for their service. He said that there is a working project in Hardin County. He said the panels are 280 megawatts. The project that he is talking about for us, this project is primarily in Bokescreek Township. He said this project has been in development since 2019 and should take another year. He stated that the application will be filed in Jan or Feb and should take another year. Project should be ready to go by 2024. The project would be operational 40 to 45 years. After that the land will be turned back as it was before this project. He explained their plans and how the panels will be in the fields and what they were made out of. The tallest the panels would ever get would be 15’. So, only 15% of this project would be in Perry Township. Mr. Vertucil answered questions from the floor. He said that there is less than 3000 acres in the project. The oldest project they have in Ohio is 1 year old and is in Hardin County. Invenergy Company will be having a Public Meeting on Jan 12. 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Benjamin Logan Middle School. He invited all to attend this meeting. Mr. Vertucil gave a very good presentation, and was well informed to answer the questions from the floor.
Mr. Brose reported that the tile in front of Wall’s has been fixed by the Gas Company. They are going to reimburse us, for our bill to Kelly’s for digging it up.
Mr. Brose reported that after the terrible wind storm a couple night ago, the lights on the Christmas tree. The middle lights are out. We need to get a bucket truck in, as there is broken wire and we can’t reach it with our ladder or the Bobcat.
Mrs. Staling brought up about getting members for the VFFDF for 2022. Mr. Brose made motion that the members for the Legislative Authority be, John Brose and Ken Rosebrook, the members from the Fire Dept. would be Sandy Wilcox and JD Gibson and the other member would be Doug Henry, seconded by Mr. Baughman Brose, yes, Cook, yes and Baughman, yes. The Chairperson will be Mr. Ken Rosebrook and the Secretary
will be Mr. JD Gibson.
The L-U-C member for 2022 will be Mr. John Brose.
The Records Commission met with no records needing to be destroyed at this time.
It was stated to have our Year-End meeting on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at the Community Room in East Liberty. Mrs. Stalling would like to have all time sheets in on Dec. 27.
We received a letter from the Logan County Commissioners about closing the alley’s for Virginia Montgomery on Temperance Street. The Commissioners will be on site for a meeting on Jan 4 at 1:00 p.m. and then it will be discussed at the Meeting at their office on Jan 6 at 1:00 p.m.
Mrs. Melony Baker reported that Santa coming to town went well. She did express that PTEC would like to have a bigger venue for next year. Melony also said she thought some of the tables in the Lodge might have gotten broke, they will need replaced.
Trustees thanked PTEC for doing this /and for the good job they did.
Mr. Brose brought up that we received an email from Johnson and Johnson Litigations about an opioid law suit. We don’t know what this is about so, we never responded and now it is past the deadline to act on it.
