The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday,

July 9, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Liberty Community Room.  Roll Call: John Brose, present, Terry Cook, present, John Baughman, present and Cindy Stalling, present.  Also present was  Bonnie Brose, Doug Henry, Doug Mercer, Larry Wellington,  Rhonda Cook, Kyle Richards, Shawn Schlabach, Holly Baughman, Don Lyons, Karen Lyons, Dan Coats, Austin McCoy, and Diesel Baughman

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mr. John Brose and all said the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees along with the financial reports prior to the meeting and stand approved by the Trustees.

Mr. Kyle Richards, had a quote from the O2 supplier for the fire dept.  This supplier is O.E. Meyer Co.  They would change to an all in one bottle, so there would not be any purchasing of regulators separately and they would not be using a different bottle.  The price to fill the bottles would be $6.00 each and we have 8 bottles.   The bigger bottles on the truck would cost $20.50 each and they have a flat delivery fee of $22.00.  We now have steel bottles that we would trade-in for their aluminum bottles at no extra charge, it would just be a trade.  In addition, we would own these bottles. We would just have to pay to fill the bottles.  Mr. Richards stated that the Board of Pharmacy is cracking down about keeping better track of these bottles.  This company does all the tracking of these bottles.  The company we were using has been bought out be Air Gas and they are more expensive.  Any bottle issues are totally covered by this company at no charge.  This also covers hydro testing, and there is a $.50 per bottle charge for this per month.  They have a service plan.  For us to totally switch now it would cost us $48.00.  This company is out of Sandusky and the representative comes from Findley.  They will also provide a C-pap mask at ½ price.  After some discussion, Mr. Baughman made a motion to switch companies, seconded by Mr. Cook.  Brose, yes, Cook, yes and Baughman, yes.  Mr. Richards will contact the company tomorrow and let them know.

Mr. John Brose brought up about getting some quotes to paint the firehouse red, trimmed in white.  The roof also needs sealed on the firehouse. Fire Chief Henry said that the spouting on the south side of the firehouse has come loose, is full, and needs cleaned out.  Larry Wellington reported that the electric box on the north side of the building is not safe, there is wires sticking out of it and hanging.  Chief said he would get ahold of HBI Electric to come and look at this.

Chief Henry reported that the Emergency Reporting for fire runs is going really well.  There are many great features on it.  They are very pleased with this reporting system.

Chief Henry met with Logan County Engineer, Scott Coleman about putting a small pull-off on C.R. 12 for our dry hydrant.  Mr. Coleman will get a quote together for this Chief said they need to change the head on the dry hydrant out there.  Chief also talked to Rod Bair about the dry hydrant on his property on T.R. 129, there needs to be some excavating done there.  Chief needs to get a list together as to what all needs to be done out there, and he would like to start on it this fall.

Mr. Brose brought up about the concession stand at the park; it has a 12” tile on the floor.  It needs to be ripped up and replaced.  He asked Doug Henry if CPI could get us a quote for it.  Mr. Henry said he would go down and look at it.

Mr. Don Lyon brought up about re-surfacing T.R. 141.  He said the road out there is starting to crumble.  Trustees said they will go out and look at it, but we probably will not do anything for a year or so.  We are going to carry our money over this year.

Mr. Larry Wellington reported in the Membership drive, he wants to start it in 2 to 3 weeks.  They have been printing out information for this.  They will be going door to door and they want to help residents fill out the information for the medical vials.  They also want to check on smoke alarms while at resident’s homes.  They need to check on getting some more alarms. They also were going to check on the green house number signs too.

Mr. Wellington brought up that the fire dept. has been discussing adding one more to the day crew.  If so, that person could be one that could help with this door-to-door campaign. Trustees are ok with the fire dept. adding another to the day crew.

Mrs. Bonnie Brose thanked Chief Henry for putting the parade together for our July celebration, thanked Larry for cleaning the shelter houses, the Trustees for all their help, Crime Watch for helping all day.  Bonnie said everything went well.

Mr. Dan Coats wanted to know if they had gotten the new tables and chairs yet for the fire dept.  We have not gotten them yet.

Mr. Terry Cook reported that the old grass truck is gone.  Sutphen took it as trade-in for the new fire truck.

Mr. Brose reported that we got a load of gravel for the Methodist Church for using their lot on Dumpster Days.

Mrs. Stalling reported that we got paperwork on when the meetings were going to be about closing the alley on Kenny Peters property.

Mr. Baughman reported that he has 2 base orders.  Mr. Brose reported that he has 2 base order too.
