Mr. Doug Henry, fire chief, reported that we are close to getting the new truck. Chief reported that with the trade-in of the Rescue and all the changes that he has made to the truck, there is a savings of $21,181.72.  Making the truck total $511,205.38.  There is also a $5,000.00 limit for outfitting the truck that was passed in December of 2017.

Chief has ordered the radios, they all came in today, they total $3,045.00 from Sunny Communications.

Chief reported that the gas meter was not able to be refurbished.  It is an outdated piece of equipment now.  Larry stated that instead of getting a gas meter, we just get some carbon monoxide detectors.  That would be around $200.00.  We would still have a gas meter on the older truck.

Chief reported that they might need to get some brackets; all equipment will be coming from Findley Fire and Fire Safety Services.

Mr. Tim Stalling brought up about the squad covering other Townships for mutual aid.  Tim stated that he thinks we need to contract with these townships because we are covering them a lot this year and that leaves our township without a squad while they are on these runs. Tim feels that we need to get another squad. Tim and Dan Coats brought up that we need to get more full-timers and provide benefits for them so we can keep them. Mr. Brose brought up about our money being cut, so we need to watch what we do.  We would probably have to put on another levy to do this. Tim said we need to have 2 medics at the firehouse 24 hours a day.  Tim gave his personal opinion that we should of purchased another squad before we purchased a new engine and there was a lot of discussion on this subject, about purchasing another squad.  If we would go this route we would need another bed at the firehouse.  Mr. Coats reported that they would like to have a murphy bed.

Mr. John Baughman reported that he had a funeral.

Mr. Terry Cook reported that the light needs to be fixed at the ballpark; it is an outfield light by 3rd base.  Mr. Brose will contact HBI and have them look at it

Mr. John Brose is trying to get in contact with the woman from BWC about some reports that we need to do, and she has not gotten back in touch with him.

Mr. Brose brought up about Republic, trash people, they told Mr. Brose that we signed a contract on Sept. 18 and it is for 2 years.  We would have to pay over $2,000.00 to get out of our contract.  Republic dropped their price from $180.00 per month (for the dumpster at the firehouse) to $75.00 per month that is the price that Rumke was going to charge us.  Mr. Brose was satisfied with this so we will sign another contract for 3 years at $75.00 per month, with no increase. There will not be an automatic renewal on the contract. Mr. Baughman made a motion to stay with Republic, seconded by Mr. Cook.  Brose, yes, Baughman, yes and Cook, yes.
