The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday,   

May 11, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Liberty Community Room.  Roll Call: John Brose, present, Jeff Rosebrook, present, Terry Cook, present and Cindy Stalling, present.  Also present was Bonnie Brose, Keith Montgomery, Joy Litteral, Larry Wellington, Dave Cook, Rhonda Cook, Pup McColloch, and Kurt Penhorwood.

       The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mr. John Brose and all said the Pledge of Allegiance.   

           The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees to read prior to this meeting.  Mr. Brose asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes and then asked if there were any additions or corrections to the financial statements that were given to the Trustees from the fiscal officer.  Both stand approved.  Minutes book could not be signed as we are going through a State Audit and they have all our books.

     Mrs. Bonnie Brose reported that PTEC has their annual spaghetti dinner on the 23rd and they are starting to work on the 4th of July celebration.

     Fire Chief  Keith Montgomery would like to get a door bell for the 3 outside doors to the firehouse.  That way when someone wants to come into the firehouse they don’t have to go around and beat on the doors.  He would like the bell to be inside the day room.  All Trustees agreed to get the doorbell.

     Chief reported that Jim Collins, medic has offered to paint the picnic tables at the firehouse if the township will get the paint.  He will do this when he is here working and on his own time.  After some discussion, Mr. Rosebrook made a motion to purchase this sealer, seconded by Mr. Brose.  Brose, yes, Rosebrook, yes, and Cook, yes. 

     Chief reported that the hose tester is here.   They are waiting on 3 sets of couplers.  Chief stated that JD Gibson’s pants needed cleaned and Jessica Gibson’s coat had to be sent back as it did not fit.

     Chief reported that the fire dept. will be doing the TRC inspection on Saturday morning.

     Chief reported that the radios on the State Bid, if we buy one now the 2nd one will be 47% off.  The chargers are extra. These are the Motorola radios, the Mach radios.  They have a 5 year warranty for $200.00 to $300.00.  They will replace with warranty with no questions.  Chief said we need the 2 new radios and the chargers.  Mr. Terry Cook made a motion for said purchase, seconded by Mr. Jeff Rosebrook.  Brose, yes, Rosebrook, yes and Cook, yes.  Chief said that they will put them in for us and service them for us.

     Mrs. Joy Litteral was upset about the County fixing the drive on the C.R. 10 property and they won’t do anything for the problem in front of her property.  She was given the whole story on the situation and was okay with it.  But, she still is not happy that the County won’t do anything with the problem on C.R. 10 on the other side of the street.  Which is in front of Joy’s property.  John explained why the county fixed this drive and why they aren’t fixing the other side of the street.  John asked her if she wanted him to check on the procedure of a petition tile.  She said to go ahead and check into this.  John said that her taxes will go up and she said she didn’t care. 

     Chief Keith reported that Leah, Larry and Kacy are going to take the 240 hr. class that will be starting in June and will take 13 weeks.  Larry wanted to know if for some reason he can’t finish the class for injuries will he have to reimburse the township?  Trustees said that if you don’t pass they have to reimburse the township, as for injuries that will be discussed at that time and voted on.

    Squad Chief Dave Cook reported that they are having trouble with the lights on the squad.  Sutphen is coming out to fix them.  Squad will be going to the Logan County Fair on Saturday, July 18 to cover the derby.

     Chief stated that when we had the suicide the body bags we have are very chinsey.  Can we get some better made ones?  Chief had a quote for some.  They come in 4 different sizes, and to get 1 of each size would by $165.00.  Terry made a motion for said

Purchase, seconded by Jeff.  John, yes, Jeff, yes and Terry. yes.  Cindy will set up an account with the company Medical Products Ltd Inc and then place the order.

     Mr. Terry Cook reported that they have replaced the boards at the bottoms of the bleachers at the park. 

     Terry reported that they have seeded the graves.

     Mr. Jeff Rosebrook is still waiting on a quote from Quality Paving for the back part of the walking track, they are to meet with Jeff in the next 2 weeks.

    Mr. John Brose reported that the mosquito man will start spraying on June 3.  He can do us once a week.

     John reported that the TV and internet is better at the firehouse.  CenturyLink came in and fixed this.  They also ran a line to Cindy’s house and the fax machine was moved from the office to her house. We did not change to Time Warner, we stayed with Century Link.  

     John reported that they got a load of Top Soil from Stalnaker of Plain City.  John said it was pretty good and $90.00 per truck load. 

     John reported that Dumpster day went good and the pancake breakfast did as well.

     We used 4 dumpsters

     Cindy received a letter from Janet Blank with pictures of dog stations for the Park. Trustees looked at them and Terry made a motion to put up 2 signs and John seconded.  John, yes, Jeff, no, and Terry, yes.  Cindy will send Janet a note telling her we are going to put up some signs

     Terry reported that he has a funeral tomorrow. 

     Terry reported that TR 131 was seeded today where the tile was torn up.

     Jeff reported that the cemetery bases will be poured tomorrow.  And the new toys will be put up at the Park too.

     John brought up about the merry-go-round at the park, what are we going to do about this?  A new one is very expensive, $1,700.00 and only 4’ around.  Jeff asked Kurt if he has an answer on the old merry-go-round.  Kurt said he would go down and look at it and see if he can come up with answer for us.  To make it round instead of hexagon.

     Township received a letter from Nick Cronkleton about expanding his hog barn from 200 head to 4400 head. 

     Bo Johns sent us a letter and they will have someone down here on the 4th of July celebration to explain and teach about the petaque game.

     Cindy reported that we are going through an audit.  They are doing a AUP instead of a full blown audit.  AUP stands for Agreed upon procedures.  It should be less expensive than a regular audit.

     Cindy brought up about the polycarts at the park?  Do we want to put them back in service? John said that he would like for us to get a dumpster like the one at the firehouse to use until the middle of July.  We can just dump the polycarts into this dumpster.  We will pull the dumpster up to the top of the park so they don’t have to take their truck around our drive.  They will be dumped on Mondays.  Cindy will call and order this dumpster.
