The Board of Perry Township Trustees met in Regular Session on Monday,
May 9, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Liberty Lodge Hall. Roll Call: John Brose, present, Ken Rosebrook, present, JD Gibson, present and Cindy Stalling, present. Also present was: Renee Rosebrook, Melony Baker, Jim and Elaine King, John Raile, Bonnie Brose, Ben Evans, Sandy Wilcox and Kane Gibson.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mr. John Brose and all said the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the previous meeting was given to the Trustees to read prior to this meeting. Mr. Brose asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes and then asked if there were any additions or corrections to the financial statements that were given to the Trustees from the fiscal officer. Both stand approved
Mr. JD Gibson reported that the roof on the Township Building is done.
Mr. Ken Rosebrook stated that the reason he moved the meeting to the Lodge Hall was based on the comments from last month’s meeting we thought Brian Shultz was going to be here tonight with some maps for the layout of the sewer. But, he hasn’t showed up yet.
Mr. Rosebrook brought up about the stump, what is happening with it. Mr. Brose reported that Del-Mar will be coming back to take care of it.
Mr. Rosebrook reported that the property at the corner of S.R. 292 and C.R. 2 that belonged to Mr. Ziegler, he has sold it to Steve Rinesmith. Mr. Rinesmith will clean it up.
Mr. Brose reported that the County has gotten back with John about coming out to trim the trees on T.R. 141. Their estimate was $950.00. We rented a machine a couple years ago to do this, and rental on the machine was $875.00, plus we had to go get it and take it back and we did the work ourselves. All Trustees thought this was a great deal and all are in favor of letting the County do it.
Mr. Brose reported that the poles are up at the Park for the ball diamond. These are to help stabilize the tarp in Center field for when the sun goes down. It is to keep the sun out of the players eyes. The poles were installed by Logan Count0y Co-Op.
Mr. Brose reported that the Boosters are putting a wooden shed in tomorrow by the batting cage.
Mr. Brose reported that the Doggie Doo-Doo stations are up and being used.
Mrs. Stalling sent 15 copies to Mr. Miller, who is in charge of the building for the sewer plant. She has not heard back from him and Mr. Dan Ackley said he hadn’t heard back from him either.
Mr. Brose reported that the water is on at the Park.
Mr. Brose stated that the PA system is working, as long as they don’t mess with the knobs.
Mr. Brose reported that the bushes along the side of the Township Building has been pulled out. We are going to put in some smaller shrubs. Mrs. Renee Rosebrook has volunteered to take care of getting the shrubs and planting the for us. Thank You Renee.
Mr. Ken Rosebrook reported that we got a letter from the Logan County Commissioners stating that they are reaching out to all the Townships in the County to see if they want to be on board, with passing a Resolution to make their Township a restricted area for NO SOLAR. Ken reported that there needs to be a meeting scheduled for all the Townships that are involved. He also reported that there needs to be a representative from Perry, Rushcreek and Bokescreek to represent this area to talk at the hearing. Ken will follow up with the Commissioners to see if they are going to do this or is it something that the 3 townships have to do.
